From the clip art vault

Found these two gems today on the clip art server... who or what could have possibly been the reason these were created? Cowboy phone?

Save The Dates sneak preview

When your older sister is getting married and you happened to study graphic design, you automatically are in charge of all things design at the upcoming wedding, but trust me I wouldn't want it any other way. Here's a sneak preview to the Save the Dates (or STD's as all wedding design blogs call them... I do not).  Possibly incorporating this 'H' (for Hattaway) that I may or may not have "borrowed" from a monogrammed candle in Anthropologie (Thanks Anthrologie!) along with this nice vintage style-lettered save the date. Next weekend it's wedding dress shopping in Cinncinatti, should be interesting and I've been watching many "Say Yes to the Dress" episodes in preperation!

My first attempt at painting a bike

I've had this interest in painting bikes lately and last night I made my first attempt at it. Mickey has a Bianchi pista that he loves but is a pretty common bike in Chicago, lots of people ride it. So he wanted to do something small so you can still tell its a Bianchi but something to make it stand out a bit. So far we have removed one of the bianchi logos and flag pattern on the seat tube. We wanted to see how that turned out before we removed the second logo on the down tube. Above are step-by step pics of the process. [Removed paint to nice shiny chrome, painted each stripe, clear-coated over] Removing the paint was the greatest, that stuff EATS away at anything.

Pretty happy with how it turned out, I'd like to attempt a full-on makeover on another bike soon!

NYC: three-pack

Sent off these three 18''x24'' NYC prints this weekend, to NYC actually. Ignore the blurry pics, had to take them quickly with my phone. Hope they enjoy them!

Etsy treasury

Another seller on Etsy listed my NYC print in their "treasury" about traveling, etc. I don't really get the whole concept of the treasury yet, but it's cool my print is in there.

and more cities..

Now on etsy, the NYC skyline and a Brownstone print are up for sale. I did these two for a couple and had them printed up large (along with Brooklyn) this weekend, so now I can put them up for sale 8''x10'' size. Also, Columbus OH is in the works.

Rough draft...

Possible illustration for band poster. Feels very Casey Burns-esque...maybe because I'm obsessed with him.

I saw it coming...

Right before I got caught in a ridiculous storm, all before I got onto the bus to get to work.

Watercolors #1

I have a new watercolor sketchbook that I am going to try to fill up with quick drawings of just people. These two are from a magazine. Hopefully I'll have the time to keep these going.

Front window again:

Sacred art posted this pic online about their new vinyl window stickers, and there's my 8x10 chicago prints in the window again! So happy they're loving my prints.
