Giant

NYC

I am finishing up a 3-piece NYC theme for a "client" (haha). I'm using my Brooklyn Bridge print, a new Brownstone apartment print...
and lastly, NYC skyline:
I am having color issues with the NYC skyline. I chose to do 2 colors on the buildings because I thought it needed more to show how crammed-in the buildings are. I like it on it's own but I'm not sure how well it relates to the other two. Suggestions welcome! (These are all 18 x 24'' btw).

The start...

Still lots to do, can we at least tell which city this is? I hope.

Brownstone print. 1 of 3 NYC Montage

Which is better? (To go along with the style of my skylines and this Brookyln Bridge print) This is one part of three final prints of New York City.

(And do I keep the building to the right color or white?)

ChicagoMag: Pitchfork Style

On saturday at Pitchfork, a guy from Chicago Magazine came by and took my brother's picture because he's oh-so-fashionable and didn't waste a second looking at my sister or I, haha. So I checked today and sure enough he's in the last photo of Chicago Magazine's favorite styles from the festival, (here). Very cool little bro, very cool.

Hang In There

My brother and sister are visiting me for the weekend for pitchfork and when they got in my brother presented me with this "gift" he made. Haha, it's a piece of "art" he did inspired by those 70's "hang in there" cat posters. It is so great.

Double Bio/Sacred Art Invite

Click HERE for my (double?) bio and the prints that are being sold at Sacred Art. I can't stand reading things about myself, even if I did write it, it's so cheesy!  They're having a "new artist/old artist"-kinda-party-thing tomorrow night. Above, is part of the email invite and I'm one of the new artists on it! Hooray. Let's hope someone bought something in the past couple weeks :).

Seattle prints... in Seattle!

Arnie sent me photos of his 18'' x 24'' (I think they were?) prints matted and hanging in his townhouse in Seattle. They look really nice together, I actually didn't expect them to hang next to each other–but I like it! I especially love how the frame matches the ink lines in the prints. I love seeing photos of my work in people's homes, glad you like them!

My screen today:

Final

Rick's painting , final version. A little different from my normal style, but I think it turned out well.

Painting in progress:

Here's some shots of a painting I'm doing for my cousin, specifically in the style of UR New York, soo it's a lot of layers of stencils and aerosol. I'm not sure if it's done, I feel like it needs more but I don't want it to be too crowded.

I'm back

I'm back at my desk after a week of vacation. The week off was so nice and filled with boating, good home-cooked food, lots of sun and most importantly family. The biggest dilemma of the week was probably deciding between beer and spinach dip or margaritas and salsa in the afternoon. All of my pictures can be seen here .

Now it's back to the grind, but coming up... my brother and sister come up to visit me for Pitchfork, which I cannot wait for. I made this lil chart today to help us plan out who we need to see the most. It's going to be a fun and stressful three days.

My art...again

Just a quick post, still on vacation so I'm not spending much time in front of a computer but I came across this on Sacred Art's facebook page. My art in the front window! Go check it out in Lincoln square.
