Tuesday night we went to a party at The Bottom Lounge to see Flosstradamus. It was a halloween party so every one dressed up and I did our makeup to look like zombies.

back: v1

Everyone's talking about the weather

It's supposed to be a high of 73 today, It practically snowed on saturday...? Chicago is strange.

More of the painting...

I started adding the faces to this massive canvas. I just started painting the black parts onto the background was planning on filling in the faces with white for a nice clean look, but I am sort of liking how it looks on the pattern, maybe too busy though?

Oh you know what this is...

Saturday, Katie, Paul and I competed in the Urbanathalon in Grant park. It was a lot of fun. We each ran 1/3 of about a 12 mile course. I ran first and did the tire obstacle, Paul went second doing the money bars and marine hurdles, and Katie finished it off by running soldier feild (Bears stadium) then jumping the taxis and the wall in the photos above. We did pretty well finishing it all in 1:52 minutes and our t-shirsts The weather was pretty lousy and by the time we were finished we were sprinting to get a cab in icey rain. Luckily it was ok during the actual race. See more pics here.

About time...

I think I am going to put this on the front of my PDFs of my portfolio that I am sending out to places, but making it match my resume and the rest of the pdf. Yeah?

Mickey Pumpkin

I carved pumpkins last night at Mickey's parents house and thought it would be funny to make a Mickey Pumpkin. It turned out really well and then we took it out on the porch to take a pic... and it rolled off the railing down to the yard and cracked. haha. It's ok, it survived pretty well. Below is the picture of what I think it looked like before, with a little help from photoshop, and under that is what it looked like after the great fall of 09.  I love Halloween!
... and the design I made and worked from:

New obsession

After hand sewing on a card, I got out my sewing machine and started experimenting with the machine on cardstock. I love the look (and most importantly, feel) of it!

Needle + thread

Not sure if you can tell from this picture, but I started doing little sketches with a needle and thread on cardstock. Here's the first I have stared, just a crazy old man with a pony tail. Maybe I'll do the next one all in thread and no pen....
(Shan, I know you're liking this idea for C+B righhht?)

Final tees

Ok I think the design is done for our possible t-shirt design.
Things to consider:
-It's the BACK of the tshirt
-Keep or get rid of finish line, Is that too COCKY? haha oh me.
-Yes I know, horrible type.
- Not sure why the "dust" is showing up lo-res. I will fix.
-We're hoping to print them on dri-fit, so we'll look like pros.

Passion pit at Logan Sq. Auditorium

Last night I saw Passion Pit at logan square auditorium. It was a free show....but we paid for tickets because it was put on by XRT radio station and well we didn't win tickets like everyone else, we kind of just heard about it last minute. No worries, we got in and the show was pretty good. I saw them a year ago and this show was much better. It was a 21+ show but I swear I was surrounded by tweens which made me slightly less excited to be there. Also the radio station had a brilliant idea of handing out glow sticks (Wha?) when you entered... only later to find the fans of tweens throwing them at passion pit? "Man I love these guys, let's see if I can hit his face with my glowstick!" I don't know, but towards the end of the show, being right up front was a bad idea as we were getting hit with glow sticks from all angles too. Way to go XRT and "Fans".

This is ***

I wish you could hear his voice. He will be a reoccurring character on this blog. He may or may not be based off of someone in real life.
More to come soon...
