Mugshot #9: Joshua

Charge: Attempted use of a weapon of mass destruction, seditious conspiracy, teaching the use of explosive materials and carrying or possessing a firearm during a violent crime

Drawing this really creeped me out.

HappyBirthdayMeg!

Happy Birthday Sister:
A pic of the necklace I made for Meg, all hand sewn. Not going to lie, I copied the idea from a girl on etsy who was selling these things for well over $50+, but I think mine turned out just fine. (And the envelope I sent it in, I was going stir-crazy at work that day).

MUGSHOTS are back: Vanessa

Charge: First-degree murder

Work has slowed down a bit and I've had some time to get back into drawing these mugshots, there have been some great characters to choose from lately. I think I like them with no background for now. Check out the previous ones: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, more to come!

Work in progress: Tree house

I have done a good amount of work on this tree house painting. I am semi-happy with it so far. I think I should have made the house smaller than it turned out, but I'm not going back on that. I am not too happy with the background at the moment, I like the texture, but the color isn't right. There are a lot more details to add still, but this is where it's at so far...

Jeremy's skylines

I finished and framed the three cities I did for a friend. The frames turned out really nice.

Also, if anyone (local) want's a Chicago print framed, I'm selling  those now. I don't want to put the framed version on etsy because shipping a frame with glass makes me nervous, but contact me if you're nearby and interested.

real TANKS

The crew at Rhythm is churning out tanks (or maybe tees from the pic?) from my design for their rail jam. They look great! So glad I could help out.

Friends on my Ipod

I got Phillip Oskar Augustine's (aka Tyler's) cd "Unknown Patterns" and a nice little note in the mail yesterday. Thanks! It's great, and I love the CD packaging. There's something so nice about having friends dispersed throughout my ipod.

TANKS FOR NOTHING

My two new flyers for Rhythm's upcoming Rail Jam. TANKS FOR NOTHING! Snowboard in a tank, get in free! Haha, I love this idea.
Oh and then we got an idea to possibly make actual tanks for it, so funny. I want one!

Treehouse painting

I'm starting a painting for a friend of a treehouse. Here is my "sketch" of how I want it to look. I based it off of The Redmond Treehouse in Redmond, WA.  I think I'll keep the treehouse itself b&w and pretty detailed and made of patterns, and the background a bit more realistic. The second picture is just the tree I like, I don't think I'll keep the colors the same as that.

Um...

Best stockphoto I have found so far. Hands down. While searching for "quill" at work I came across...
? There's a couple more like it too in different hats. Amazing!

Spring

Looks like Spring is finally here, so I escaped and laid down in the grass during my lunch break today. It's so nice when it's sunny and warmer out.

Sneak preev

Can't tell you what it is yet ;)

St. Pats

This past weekend we celebrated St. Pat's in Chicago. We went on a trolley for the day. It was a lot of fun... but I don't feel like explaining it all right now. Click here for more photos.

Guess people really like these city prints...

Top to bottom: Chi, Minneapolis... and Madison WOMP WOMP.
So a while ago I did a chicago print (top), originally for a friend to print poster-size for her brother, and began printing them 8'' x 10'' to give away/sell. Uhh people really like these, surprisingly, and now I'm working on prints of Minneapolis and Madison to go along with Chicago for a friend. He wants all three: hometown, college-town, and uh... "adult"-town (?). Haha

Here they are so far.  My attempt at Madison is looking pretty weak in comparison of the towering cities of Chicago and Minneapolis, but  that's what it looks like...hmm. I'm still working on colors of Minneap. and Madison too.

Oh and coming soon....SEATTLE!

recital flyer for pete

I recycled one of my bird-man illustrations, and I've become obsessed with this triangle pattern.

Maybe not...

I started this illustration to put on a flyer... but then I decided I didn't like it and it would just look odd on the layout. Maybe next time.

Done

Finished the Pegasus painting I was doing for my friend. Anyone know how to keep inks from turning purple under a gloss medium or gloss fixative. :( My detailed lines all turned purple. Guess I can only use something like pure india inks if I'm going to varnish it?
